Proteos Employee Spotlight: Kristina Gregg, M.S.

At Proteos, we understand that it is our employees that make our company special.  Proteos’ scientific staff has decades of combined experience in the biotechnology and life science industries.  In the upcoming months, we will continue featuring staff profiles on our blog so that you can learn a bit more about the hard-working individuals responsible for orchestrating your recombinant protein production projects.  Our staff profile series continues with Kristina Gregg.

Kristina joined the Proteos team in 2014 as a protein purification scientist. Kristina spends most of her time at Proteos at the bench, purifying proteins with various chromatography techniques and analyzing the products.

Kristina graduated from Albion college with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. At Albion, she developed a passion for working in the lab, which lead her to seek a graduate degree from Wayne State University. Kristina remained in the metro Detroit area for a few years as a research scientist at Michigan Diagnostics, LLC, but decided to move to the west side of Michigan and found a position at Proteos.

Kristina grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan (the UP), which has instilled in her a great love of the outdoors. She enjoys leisurely bike rides, hiking, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. One of Kristina’s favorite hobbies is wildlife and landscape photography. Kristina and her husband, Dave, also enjoy ballroom dancing and traveling. Some of their favorite destinations have been Germany, Honduras, and Yellowstone.

Kristina is thrilled to be working at Proteos, as the small company provides diverse projects to work on, in a friendly environment. She enjoys the aspect of working on many different proteins, spanning a wide variety of research projects, while being able to see tangible end results.
